Current Legislations
“The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998” (PUWER’98) and “The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998” (LOLER’98).
These Regulations state that an employer must be responsible for any access equipment and maintain it in a safe condition for their employees. The employer therefore has a duty to check any equipment that they hire has been thoroughly examined within the last six months by a competent person.
