IPS appointed authorised parts & service provider for Manitou

IPS is please to announce its appointment as ofiicial parts and service provider for Manitou Aerial Work Platforms (AWP's) in the UK.

The agreement is based on all multiple deal Manitou AWP’s supplied to access rental companies within the UK. Our engineering team will recieve full service training on the Manitou product range, and a parts inventory of fast moving service items will be held at our warehouse in Telford.

Manitou UK dealers will retain their important role in supplying powered Access Platforms to specific end user customers in the Construction & Industrial sectors.

Commenting on the agreement, IPS’s Operations Director Kevin Shadbolt says “We are pleased to be approached by Manitou who is such a well respected global player with a good reputation for robust and well built equipment.”

At IPS, we are focused on customer satisfaction and maintaining loyalty by providing unrivalled service suppoprt. Our client commitment is perfectly illustrated by our 17 highly trained mobile engineers with service vehicles stocked with all the required service parts.

Ten years in the making - IPS celebrate 10 years in business

Its hard to believe that ten years have passed since IPS was first established in 2001. During that time the company has grown into one of the leading parts and after-sales service providers in the powered access and lifting equipment market. We have spread our wings and built up parts operations in Australia and France, and work with several distributors across the globe, whilst in the UK we have successfully established a National after-sales service business.

Strength to Strength

We started out in 2001 in a small building with one office and a workshop based in Newport, Shropshire – we generated £1.3 million in revenue but a £194,000 loss. It took until 2005 for us to turn a profit and since then IPS has gone from strength to strength reaching revenues over £7 million in 2010. It’s organic growth has resulted in moving premises twice and in November 2010, we opened our Harris House Headquarters in Telford, Shropshire.

‘Mad as Hatters!”
To celebrate our Ten Year milestone we held a ‘Very Merry Mad Hatter Tea Party’ on November 5th for all our staff and their partners. The Dormy House Hotel in Broadway hosted the event which was colourfully themed with a 2.5m high enchanted tree, giant topiary plants, floating lanterns and a black & white chequer-board dance floor. Our staff enjoyed a 4 course meal dining at lavishly decorated tables complete with vintage teacups & saucers, bright pink candelabras and sweetie treats!

IPS France to Supply Grove Manlift Parts

IPS France, our French division has been appointed official parts distributor by MinnPar for the Grove Manlift product range in France. The appointment was made official at last week’s APEX show in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

From the 26th September 2011, customers in France will have an outlet for purchasing genuine Grove Manlift parts, including the SM Scissor range, MZ Straight Booms and Articulated AM Booms.MinnPar, a US company, sell OEM and quality replacement parts for a range of manufacturers access products and specialise in ‘out of production’ and obsolete product lines. IPS France will supply the surrounding regions with Grove Manlift parts, sourcing stock from MinnPar through a European distribution centre.

Frédéric Allier, IPS France’s Managing Director says, ‘as an established business, we have existing relationships with the French rental market, and can offer Grove Manlift customers the benefits of an improved and professional parts service with our established distribution links and technical support’.

The distribution agreement will give owners and operators of Grove Manlift platforms improved product availability, and faster delivery response times. Parts will be held in stock at IPS France’s premises in Libourne, Cedex, supported by MinnPars’ European distribution centre. IPS France will have access to Grove Manlift parts and service manuals, along with technical information to provide further customer support.

Our team will be crossing the channel next month for the APEX show in The Netherlands. We will be packing up and heading to Holland for the largest gathering of access equipment in the World...so why not drop by our stand, 1460?

IPS appointed Grove Manlift Parts Distributor

MinnParr, a US company, have appointed IPS as official parts distributor for the Grove Manlift product range in the UK and Ireland.

MinnPar sell OEM and quality replacement parts for a range of manufacturers access products and specialise in ‘out of production’ and obsolete product lines. IPS will supply the UK and Ireland with Grove Manlift parts, sourcing stock from MinnPar through a European distribution centre.

From the 1st August 2011, customers in the UK will have an outlet for purchasing genuine Grove Manlift parts, including the SM Scissor range, MZ Straight Booms and Articulated AM Booms.

Owner and operators of Grove Manlift platforms will benefit from distribution agreement offering them improved product availability and faster delivery response times. Parts will be held in stock at IPS’s premises in Telford, UK, supported by MinnPars’ European distribution centre.

IPS will have access to Grove Manlift parts and service manuals, along with technical information to provide further customer support. Sander Mellaard, IPS’s Parts Manager explains, ‘with our existing distribution network and support services, we can offer MinnPar, and its Grove Manlift customers a professional and improved parts sourcing solution.

Showing our Support for Lavendon's Charity Cycle Challenge

A big well done to the Lavendon’s Management Trainees for finishing the gruelling cycle challenge, and raising a whopping £10k for the Lighthouse Club Benevolence Fund.

The eight day cycle challenge saw five Management Trainees cycle 800 miles between two of Lavendon’s most distant UK depots, Nationwide Platforms Aberdeen and Panther Liskeard, and included scheduled stops at EPL Skylift Leeds and Lavendon's Headquarters in Lutterworth.

As a strategic partner supplying fast moving parts to 25 of Lavendon's rental branches, IPS were proud to sponsor the team and show our support for the cause. Haulotte, JLG and other industry suppliers also sponsored the challenge.

The money raised will go towards supporting those who are affected by injury and death in the construction industry. IAPA's 2011 Winners - IPS wins After Sales Award

IPS scooped the Outstanding After Sales Service Award at last week’s IAPA’s (International Awards for Powered Access) held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Upon receiving the award, the judges statement proclaimed, "IPS had an excellent track record already, but still managed to achieve impressive improvements in their 2010 performance with several initiatives that proved beneficial to their customers’’. It was noted that the judges liked the way IPS worked with its customers to improve efficiency, while at the same time reducing costs.

We are delighted to have received this award, and for IPS to be recognised as a first class deliverer of after sales service. The team here works very hard, and a big thanks to them for their enthusiasm and commitment. Thank you also to our customers, who made it possible for us to tailor our service offering with them in mind.

The winners of the IAPA's 2011

The annual International Awards for Powered Access (IAPA) dinner and ceremony, held on 14^th April at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, was attended by over 450 people. The awards dinner followed the IPAF Summit conference which reported a record breaking attendance. The IAPA’s are jointly organised by IPAF and Access International.

The full list of the winners, and the citations from the judges, were as follows:

Facelift Access Hire, UK (Access Rental Company of the Year)
Of the winner the judges said: "This company showed an exceptional performance in a challenging year, and has produced an acclaimed safety guide and has been consistently innovative with creative and unique marketing reflecting the company's character."

Paul Adorian & Pierre Saubot (Joint Winners - Lifetime Achievement Awards)
The judges said Mr Adorian had helped establish the UK as one of the world's
best developed access markets. He was the first person to establish a successful access rental company in the UK, was crucial in the creation of IPAF and led the organisation as MD for many years. He was also pivotal in creating the training programme which is now such an important part of the organisation's activities. "He continues to plan active role in the industry, running one of the best known notified bodies in the UK, PAC."

Mr Saubot, said the judges, is one of the pioneers of the European access sector, and a past-president of IPAF. "He has built one of the major manufacturers in the world - Haulotte - and has worked hard throughout his long career to promote the use of powered access worldwide. He is still very active in the industry and at Haulotte, and remains one of the true leaders of this industry."

Kevin O'Shea, Mastclimbers (IPAF Safety Champion)
The judges said that Mr O'Shea "has maintained a consistent and exceptional performance in promoting safety, has influenced government and safety regulators, and continues to promote mast climbers internationally"

ZT Safety Systems, UK (Contribution to Safe Working at Height)
The judges said that ZT "has developed a unique product that has the potential to save lives, whose ease of use will encourage people to adopt it, and which improves and reduces the risks associated with conventional models".

Harsco Infrastructure Services - Heron Tower Project, London (Access Project of the Year)
"In a very tightly contested category, we chose the winner for overcoming obstacles and defining standards in taking mast climbing technology to new extremes".

MEC Aerial Work Platforms: Titan Boom (Product of the Year - Self Propelled (booms, scissors, atrium lifts)
The judges thought that this company could have established a new market category in a platform that offers the deck characteristics of a large double-deck scissor with the carrying capacity of a telehandler and the characteristics of a telescopic boom."

CTE: B-Lift 20.13 MP (Product of the Year - Vehicle/Trailer Mounted)
As a winner in a strong field, they were described by the judges as creating a genuinely unique product. "It stands out in a highly competitive market, by combining the characteristics of a simple telescopic boom platform with that of an up and over machine."

Alimak Hek: Alimak Scando 650 (Product of the Year - Mast Climbing Work Platform/Hoists)
The judges said that the winner was "an engineering triumph - and definitely one of the largest masted passenger/goods hoists ever produced. The company used all its expertise to engineer a unique solution to transporting goods and personnel on an inclined building 200 m high."

Custom Equipment: HB-830 (Product of the Year - Low-Level Access)
The judges said, "In a fast growing sector of the access market we were impressed by this company's approach to developing low weight scissor lifts. The winner was recognised for its performance in combining capacity, compactness and mobility."

Independent Parts & Service (IPS), UK (Award for Outstanding After Sales Service)
"IPS had an excellent track record already, but still managed to achieve impressive improvements in their 2010 performance with several initiatives that proved beneficial to their customers." The judges liked the way the company worked with its customers to improve efficiency while at the same time reducing costs.

IPAF AWARD CATEGORIES

BS Technology, Singapore (Best Marketing Campaign for IPAF Training)
The judges said; "It is difficult to overestimate the impact on IPAF training that this company has made. It has gained government recognition for IPAF training, helped establish standards in a country where none previously existed, and is serving as a model for the promotion of training."

Gurpartap Singh, Rapid/Lavendon Group (IPAF Training Instructor of the Year)
The judges described the winner as a passionate advocate of IPAF training. "His is a great story of personal achievement, who was described by his employer as not just a great trainer, but one of the company's best salesmen."

Piattaforme Aeree Formazione (PAF), Italy (Best New IPAF Training Centre)
The winner was described by the judges as delivering "a remarkable record in what was a very difficult year."
