Over the weekend, IPS were on hand to help Lavendon Access Services who were hosting their very own version of Scrapheap Challenge. Based on the channel 4 show, teams of four came together from around the country to compete against the clock using scrap parts and out of commission machinery.

The teams, who were engineers working for Nationwide Platforms, EPL Skylift and Panther, were tasked to design and build a piece of machinery within 48 hours. Using only the tools and equipment they bought with them and the scrap equipment in the yard, each team have to prove thier finished product could be operated successfully and safely before a panel of judges.

As a preffered supplier to Lavendon Access Services, IPS were on hand to supply spare parts to the challenging teams. Our regional sales representative Darren Jones took his van along to the Nottinghamshire location, which as always, was fully stocked with a large range of fast moving parts.

The event was a huge success, and the North East Team 'Durham County Choppers' walked away with the first prize for their all terrain Beach Buggy. Well done guys!
